This is not a corporate networking app, and it's not built around swiping through strangers. There's no category to pick when you join. Profiles are built around how you actually communicate, not just how you look.

A lot of social apps quietly expect everyone to communicate the same way: fast replies, small talk, reading between the lines. unmaskd. lets you say how you communicate, what helps, and what you're looking for up front, so the people you meet already have some idea of how to talk with you.

The platform is early. We're building it openly and carefully. Accessibility is not an afterthought here. It is the whole point.

Where communities fit in

Many people already have a group that understands them: a local autism organization, an ADHD support group, friends from a meetup. Those groups do things an app can't, and we're not trying to replace them or take them over.

What unmaskd. can add is one shared network. You can stay connected with people you already know, and when you're ready, meet people from other places and other groups. You don't need to belong to any organization to join, and your privacy settings still decide who can see your profile.

Today, any group can recommend unmaskd. to its members. Further down the line, we'd like to give communities their own spaces here. That part isn't built yet. Read more for communities.
